Fox Footy looks back at some of the AFL Grand Finals glorious moments ahead of the 2014 showdown

IT’S NOT unusual for the AFL Grand Final entertainment to go horribly wrong, but Tom Jones took it to another level at the MCG today.
First, the Welsh singer mistakenly referred to the players taking part in today’s game as “rugby players” during an interview with former Hawthorn player Campbell Brown on Channel 7.
Then, if that wasn’t embarrassing enough, he appeared to refer to Brown as a “d***head” behind his back.
But to be fair, Brown might have earned it.
The ex-AFL star pulled out a pair of his undies and handed them to Jones as a reference to the countless lady fans who have hurled their lingerie at the crooner over the years.
Jones clearly wasn’t happy about it, although some are claiming he said, “Take care.”

Jones wasn’t the only entertainer copping it on social media, either.
Ed Sheeran, the English singer-songwriter who joined Jones on stage for the pre-match entertainment, also fell victim to a heap of light-hearted Aussie humour.

As for their actual performance?
Flawless, really.
Earlier in the week, Jones and Sheeran had an instant education in footy as AFL boss Gillon McLachlan helped the pair awkwardly kick and handball a footy on the MCG.
Sheeran was presented with a Sherrin football with his surname replacing the famous logo.
“When I first saw the ball I said, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if it said ‘Sheeran’ instead of Sherrin and I was told they couldn’t do it,” Sheeran said.
“But they did it. It’s good. I’m looking forward to seeing my first Aussie Rules game.”
