GEORGE Clooney has married human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin in a private ceremony in Venice, Italy.
And the afternoon after their romantic wedding, the newlyweds dazzled the crowd as they hopped in a water taxi to reunite with their guests and continue the weekend-long celebration.
Stepping out of the Aman Canal Grande hotel, the 16th-century palazzo where they wed and spent the night, the newlyweds went to the Belmond Hotel Cipriani for brunch.
Clooney looked dapper in a grey suit while his new bride looked stunning in a long-sleeved Giambattista Valli dress, both flashing their wedding bands.
Hundreds of locals flocked to the shore to catch a glimpse of the couple, with dozens of paparazzi following the newlyweds in speed boats on the canal.

The glamorous couple tied the knot in front of their celebrity mates at the luxury Aman hotel overlooking Venice’s spectacular Grand Canal on Saturday.

Clooney was followed by a flotilla of photographers to the hotel, and the actor rubbed his hands in anticipation before disappearing inside as the sun set Saturday evening.
The night before, Clooney said goodbye to bachelorhood with a stag party at his favourite restaurant with Hollywood mates.

The actor had swept into the floating city on Friday with Alamuddin on a water taxi dubbed “Amore”, zipping up the Grand Canal to cheers from fans.
As evening approached, Clooney set out in black tie for an all-boys do with friends to celebrate one of his last nights as a single man.
After shaking off paparazzi, Clooney headed to Da Ivo near Saint Mark’s Square where he dined with friends on the venue’s prized Venetian and Tuscan delicacies.

A waiter at the restaurant said the group tucked into a banquet of stuffed zucchini flowers, figs and ham and fresh Tagliolini pasta with truffles.
Clooney was then reported to have headed to the luxurious Cipriani hotel where he slept, but not before rounding off the evening with some shots and cigars.
The 53-year-old actor had 100 cases of his own tequila label flown in for his wedding and was expected to have cracked open bottles of the award-winning tipple at the buck’s party.
Clooney’s Lebanon-born bride was spotted in a long red gown heading off to her own soiree at the fresco-adorned Aman hotel with close friends, including Ellen Barkin — who threw the 36-year-old human rights lawyer a hen party several weeks ago.

In a Cinderella moment, Alamuddin lost her shoe after the stiletto heel got caught in a gap in the slatted floor in front of the hotel, but she recovered in style.
Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber were just a few of the stars in Venice for the wedding, with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and musician Bono tipped to follow on Saturday.
The Aman’s restaurant was turned into a nightclub where they danced the night away, with Lana Del Rey reportedly serenading the couple and Clooney dedicating the song When I fall in Love to Alamuddin.
Clooney, who has owned a home in northern Italy for years, was married once before, to Mad Men actor Talia Balsam, but the pair split in 1993, just before his breakout role in ER propelled him to the status of global sex symbol.
