CAIRO: Three improvised bombs detonated in Sharqia in the eastern Delta, targeting two public buses and a railway bridge early Friday.Due to the explosions, minor damage to the railway bridge outside a village in Belbais halted train traffic between Cairo and Sharqia governorate for two hours, Youm7 reported.

Sisi orders police conscripts stand before military court if charged with crimes
CAIRO: A presidential decree has ordered military courts to handle police conscripts charged with breaking the law following amendments passed by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to Law 109 regulating the police system on Sept. 30.The official weekly state paper announced the decision Thursday, but local press only reported on it this week following an official holiday for Eid al-Adha.
According to the new legal text, the military judicial system is the only body in charge of ruling in crimes attributed to police conscripts. Before the amendment, the decision was in the hands of the minister of interior and the Supreme Council of Police Forces, Youm7 reported Thursday.
It is unclear whether this is a new strategy aimed at fighting police corruption, but tales of police abuse of power and law breaking are common in Egypt.
An anonymous source told The Cairo Post earlier this week they had it on good authority from police officials “Sisi was on to violations committed by police conscripts,” and added that a couple of police officers were recently arrested for drug possession at the Ahmed Hamdi Tunnel on the way to the Sinai.
