A woman has been arrested after the burning of an Australian flag at the Anzac War Memorial in Sydney’s Hyde Park.
Emergency services were called to the park on Wednesday afternoon after a flag was allegedly removed from the memorial and burned in its flame of remembrance.

She was being questioned at Sydney City Police Station.
Minister for Veterans Affairs Victor Dominello and RSL NSW President Don Rowe on Wednesday condemned the incident.
“Not only is this criminal behaviour, its deeply disrespectful of the memorial and all it represents,” Mr Dominello said in a statement.
“It is deeply concerning that any person would seek to desecrate the Australian flag.
“Doing so on this sacred site makes it all the more reprehensible.” Mr Rowe urged members of the public to come forward with information.
“Veterans and their families will be outraged by this attack on a sacred monument dedicated to thousands of Australians who have fought and died for their country,” he said.”

They then repeatedly stabbed her face and body, leaving her with multiple injuries. One slash on her back requierd 20 stitches alone.
The attackers have been identified only as Flor, 18, and Maira, 16.

“They were jealous of my sister for a long time and always abusing her and insulting her, but we never expected them to go this far,” she said.
“I can only assume they were drinking or taking drugs as usual.
“I have tried to stay strong for my beautiful sister but every time I see her I want to burst into tears.
“They have ruined her life. She says she wants to kill herself because when she looks in the mirror she is so ugly now. It has ruined our family.”
Police confirmed the suspects have been interviewed. 16-year-old Maira has been released from custody, but 18-year-old Flor remains with police.

8:05amTwo teenage boys have allegedly been bashed, robbed and tied up by a group of masked offenders wielding knuckle dusters and knives in Melbourne’s north.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));The teens, aged 15 and 16, were walking along Spring Street in Thomastown at 1am on Thursday when two cars pulled up next to them, police say.
A group of around eight masked assailants got out of the cars and demanded the teens’ money and phones.
The masked group allegedly pulled out flick knives and knuckle dusters and assaulted the boys, who then gave up their phones. The boys were found tied up inside a parked car on a nearby bridge after an anonymous emergency call drew police to the scene. The teens were taken to hospital, with the 16-year-old being treated for head injuries.
Police are appealing for more information from any witnesses, particularly the person who made the emergency call.

It’s the incident that has brought Hong Kong’s week of mass protests into sharp focus.
Shocking video has emerged of police tapping an elderly protestor on the shoulder and turning him around, before aiming a can of pepper spray right in his face, writes news.com.au’s Victoria Craw.

The video shows police pushing back crowds in a violent clash, before the lone protestor emerges in what seems like an effort to calm people down, while wiping his eyes.
However once he gets close enough, a member of police taps him on the shoulder. When he turns around to look he is hit with a spray right in the eye.

“I’m gonna end up on some blooper reel!”
Oh yes, yes you are Jennifer Ketchmark.
The weather presenter for WXIN-Fox 59 in Indianapolis was caught off guard when a bee flew in front of the TV channel’s ‘tower cam’, giving it the illusion it was a gargantuan, man-eating, flying mega-bug.
“I’m going to regret that for a long time!” she can be hard saying.
Thanks for the laughs, Jennifer.

7:20amAustralian aircraft have completed their first mission over Iraq, returning safely to their base in the United Arab Emirates.
The government deployed Super Hornets, a Wedgetail early warning and control aircraft, a refueller aircraft and special forces members to support missions flown by US and other coalition forces against the Islamic State.

This comes as Iraqi military pilots mistakenly dropped aid packages to ISIS militants, instead of their own soldiers, according to security and military officials.
The supplies of food, water and ammunition were intended to assist besieged Iraqi army personnel, who had been fighting Islamist extremists for a week in Saglawyah and the village of Al-Sijar in the country’s western province of Anbar, NBC reports.

Looks like us Aussies aren’t the only ones with footy fever.
Footage shows a group of “lads” attempt to storm a pub by using methods straight from the football field.
The Irish Mirror reports one of the men in the group was refused entry for being a little worse for wear. Cue cavemen behaviour.
Gathering all their mates, the boys form a scrum and fail to raid the pub’s security, not once, but twice.

Nestle Fitness attached a hidden camera to a volunteer’s eye-catching bra, and its not long before eyes start to wander.
In one round of filming, 37 people are caught having a sneaky glance.
The Nestle Fitness campaign is a part of the #CheckYourSelfie experiment, designed to encourage women to check their breasts for lumps and bumps.
“The new video was launched as part of the company’s annual Pink Ribbon commitment to build awareness about breast cancer and to raise funds in partnership with local charities in more than 20 communities where Nestlé Fitness operates,” said Nicolas Guillon, Nestle’s global marketing manager for fitness.
So, when was the last time you checked yours?
